Al Stam is the founder of Stam Fiduciary and a California Licensed Professional Fiduciary (CLPF #1601). With over 20 years of international legal experience across mergers and acquisitions, real estate, banking, finance, taxation, and auditing, he brings an unusually broad foundation to California's most demanding financial and estate matters. Al earned his LL.M. in Business Law, M&A, and Securities Regulation from UCLA School of Law, a second LL.M. in Business Law from the University of East Anglia, and a Bachelor of Laws with honors.
Throughout his career, Al managed complex legal affairs in international corporate transactions at foreign law firms and private equity organizations, developing deep expertise in mergers and acquisitions, banking, finance, and intellectual property. At KPMG, he further refined his skills in auditing, risk management, and regulatory compliance — experience that directly informs his approach to trust administration, estate settlement, and family office management.
As a California Licensed Professional Fiduciary, Al is committed to acting in the best interests of those he serves, upholding the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and professional responsibility.
Outside of work, Al is an avid outdoorman who enjoys skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, trail running, paddleboarding, and open water swimming. He lives with his beautiful wife and three daughters in San Diego, California.
Al believes that a full life outside the office makes him a better fiduciary — more patient, more present, and more attuned to what truly matters to the families he serves. He lives with his beautiful wife and three daughters in San Diego, California.
"My legal career taught me how to navigate complex matters, guide people to resolution with clarity and efficiency, and step in to execute and complete matters on their behalf. As a fiduciary, I bring those principles to the service of families who need trusted guidance."— Al Stam, LL.M. · Stam Fiduciary
